My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Nancy and her dedicated design team on the 10-month long construction of our new home. As recent transplants to the area, we were eager to shrug off the cold cloak of northern, city living and create a sunny oasis for ourselves in our newly adopted beach town.
We were fortunate that a good friend of ours, who had moved to the area several years earlier, had a wonderful recommendation for us for an interior designer – Nancy Mullineaux – who had helped design their custom home, which we incidentally loved.
Our journey began with sitting down with Nancy and her staff and looking over our blueprints before setting a date to break ground. They carefully assessed every detail of the floor plans, room by room, and made numerous creative suggestions, some of which weren’t even addressed by the architect!
Over the course of the project Nancy and her team consistently kept us updated and informed on our project timelines, and never ceased to work in a collaborative effort with our builder, architect, etc. It was a true team effort and it made the potentially stressful aspect of building a new home a relaxing, enjoyable and actually FUN experience because we knew what good hands we were in.
An added benefit of working with Nancy is the incredible array of resources she has available in her retail showroom. We were saved the inconvenience and aggravation of having to run all over town trying to coordinate our tile, wood & carpet, cabinets with counter tops, paint and everything else needed since she offered it all under one roof. Being a very price conscious consumer having worked in the banking industry for forty years, I was pleasantly surprised by how far our budget went thanks to Nancy’s “cost-plus” pricing structure, which allowed us to purchase everything we needed at contractor’s pricing.
We were even able to furnish our entire home with customized furniture, accessories, lamps, tables, chairs, custom bedding, blinds etc. Pretty much everything we needed for our new home. Through Nancy’s showroom offerings, all with the unwavering assistance of her and her design team’s creative vision and ability to pull together ideas, we were shown fresh concepts that we would not have been able to come up with on our own.
Our experience of tackling building a custom house resulted in a beautiful home that we love, and that evolved into being a true reflection of us and our busy lifestyle of entertaining along with our growing family, dogs and grandchildren.
